Thanks – Physio Worked!!

I wanted to write and give you some feedback and in particular thanks – After several visits to my GP and an inconclusive scan I was referred to the Loughborough Physio & Sports injuries clinic to see if they could get to the root cause and treat my prolonged pain and severe discomfort to my lower abs and groin that I’d sustained playing football some 7 months prior to my visit to the clinic. I couldn’t jog or do anything core related and kicking a ball sent pain through my body and as an ageing footballer and coach I honestly feared my sporty days had gone for good.

I was very impressed at how quickly Jo diagnosed the problem and immediately provided me with some exercises to work on whilst giving me the reassurance that the problem could be cured with patience and commitment. As the exercises began to work session by session Jo provided me with more advanced exercises to perform. After 5 visits to the clinic and dedication to doing the exercises over several months I’m back running, playing football and I actually think I feel better than I did before my injury –  I really can’t thank Jo enough for getting me back to being mobile and playing football again. PHYSIO works !! .

A painful foot

I received treatment at Loughborough Physio Clinic for a painful foot, which stopped me competing. The care received was of a great standard.  Not only was there great support in terms of how to physically deal with the sporting injury but also emotionally.  The physio session extend beyond physical rehabilitation.  It was also a time where I could talk about my worries, emotions and issues and confide in someone about the injury and its’ impact.  The follow up care was outstanding with many phone calls and emails being exchanged after my initial consultation finished.  In addition the physio team had great contacts with many other professionals in the sporting field meaning expert advice and opinions were always on hand.  In all I could not wish to have been supported by a better team.

Thanks for everything

Achilles Tendon

I am writing to thank you for the treatment and advice you have given me during my recent visits to your clinic.

You may recall that I had suffered discomfort and pain with my Achilles for some considerable time, prior to my first visit. In fact, it had reached the point that I could not walk the day after a run, without limping. The discomfort would last days, if not weeks. This made it difficult to compete.

I was very impressed with the clinic and your friendly, but professional, approach to my problem. The clinic is spotless and fresh, with easy parking that saved me walking far! I feel your thorough investigation and diagnosis was more accurate than my GP’s.

The treatment at your clinic and the exercises you recommended rapidly decreased the pain and discomfort and I am now able to walk the day after an event. I am so happy, as now I can enter multi-day events yet again.

I will recommend your clinic to those in need of a physio.

Hamstring Strain & ITB

I have been fortunate to enjoy running (Charnwood AC & Barrow Runners) for over 30 years. My ability to sustain such a long period in a sport I love has in no small part been due to the excellent support I have received from Jo Hartshorn when injuries sustained in the last decade have threatened further participation.

Most notably Jo has helped me to recover fully from a hamstring strain (football injury) and an IT band problem (over-training). Always systematic and professional in her approach, a decision on effective treatment was quickly made and applied in each case, together with helpful follow exercises to accelerate recovery. Jo’s friendly approach also makes it easy to discuss the problem in depth so that a patient has a clear understanding of the treatment strategy.

There is always a warm welcome when you arrive at the clinic and I am happy to recommend their excellent service to fellow runners.

Marathon Injury

I first called the clinic on recommendation from a friend after becoming injured while marathon training. I was given an appointment with David the next day. I received treatment and was given a strengthening programme and was also advised to try yoga. The injury meant I had to deter my marathon and I’m running stronger than I was before.

I have no hesitation in recommending them to other runners, it was their expert help and advice that got me back running as quickly as possible and for that I’m very grateful.

Rugby Injury

I first became a patient at the LPSIC in 1985. I continue to use their services as necessary for treatment to my lower back which was damaged during my rugby playing days and continues to be aggravated by my persistence in playing golf at the age of 78.

I have no doubt that without the absolutely top class standard of physiotherapy I have received; I would be unable to continue to play the game that has given me so much pleasure over the years.

Jo Hartshorn and her associates are an absolutely top class team. Jo has applied herself over the years and now holds a Masters Degree. I have recommended LPSIC to many of my golfing companions, all of whom have come back to my with glowing reports.

I would have absolutely no hesitation on recommending the team to anyone who suffers from any sort muscular injury.
